Our MasoniCHIP Support Committee was founded at the 2004 Conference of Grand Masters after a stirring presentation by Peter Banks, Director of Outreach and Training for the Natl Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). We continue together in collaboration and Peter Banks returned to the Conference of Grand Masters on Februrary 18th, 2007 to present a citation to Natl MasoniCHIP Support for the work they have done to assist Masonic Grand Lodge Jurisdictions to engage in Masonic Child Identification Programs, MasoniCHIP. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) recognizes "Comprehensive MASONIC CHIP" as one of the most comprehensive Child Recovery and Identification Programs in the nation providing parents with necessary items to aid law enforcement in recovery, identification of children as well as prosecution of perpetrators. The National Center continues to...
lend their strong support to programs that are indeed "comprehensive". They recognize the Freemasons' dedication to provide the equipment and the volunteer hours necessary to generate completed ID KITs for the parents in our communities, realizing that few parents would take the time to compile such detailed information on their own. They also encourage our Masonic Jurisdictions to operate the "comprehensive" MasoniCHIP which necessitates fostering relationships with dental professionals to engage in the generation of the Toothprints® dental impressions, and generate a recorded audio/video interview in addition to the usual fingerprints and still photo. Toothprints® can aid in identification in cases of fire, plane crashes, earthquakes, or terrorist activities. With modern digital survalance equipment and computer searching, a small snipid of a childs voice can be used to identify in a matter of seconds. Our collaboration goal for 2007 is to assist Masonic Jurisdictions engages in MasoniCHIP to include Prevention and Safe Kids Education at every MasoniCHIP Event by informing them of the numerous printed brochures available "free of charge" from the Natl Center that can be ordered on-line from their website. |
