Two years ago, most of the existing comprehensive Masonic child identification initiatives were recording the video interview on VHS tapes. The Grand Lodge of Michigan wanted to start up their comprehensive program with a full digital recorded interview on a computer burned to an inexpensive disc for the parents to take home. They wanted the new system to be compact, to erase the current child data prior to taking the next child data, and have the child ID soft ware program immediately start up as the computer was turned on. They also wanted the computer dedicated to only MICHIP and not have the ability to put any additional software on it. This was a tall order, but they were able to collaborate with Canton Computers, Inc. (CCI) Canton, Michigan to develop equipment and software to meet their specifications. This has been a labor of love for John Wisniewski the owner of CCI, a non-mason who continues to evolve and refine his equipment/software to the benefit of Masons engaged in child ID. His latest iteration packages an entire system in a metal briefcase, wired together with only one powerline to connect on the side of the case. This system has been adopted by those who were recording on VHS in ever increasing numbers. It really is a well thought out system. For more information on system details visit www.ezCHILDid.com where you can download their software for use on your computer for a 30-day "free trial".
